WHO IS JOJO?

I’m an athlete, storyteller, and professional photographer with a heart rooted in Ultimate Frisbee.
Sport has always been my world. I started playing Ultimate as a teenager in Germany, competing at national and international levels. When I moved to Australia 5.5 years ago to pursue a PhD in bio-inspired robotics, I brought that passion with me — both for sport and for storytelling.
After a serious injury paused my playing career, I wasn’t ready to step away from the community that shaped me. So I turned to the camera — a passion I’ve carried since childhood. I saved up for my first one as a kid, and it’s been my companion on every trip, hike, and adventure since. Even then, I was drawn to capturing the feeling of a moment — a passion that now fuels my work in sports photography.
What started as a way to support my team from the sidelines grew into a professional career. I became the go-to photographer for national-level Ultimate events in Queensland, joined the official media team at the 2024 World Ultimate Championships, and have also covered international tournaments like the Women’s Lacrosse World Championship Qualifiers. Alongside Ultimate, I’ve worked across sports like AFL, CrossFit, and basketball and with multiple high performance gyms — always aiming to capture not just the action, but the energy, spirit, and stories that define a team, individual athlete or coach.
